This month, I’m wearing a little bit of pink everyday, not just to look cute, but to raise awareness and show support for National Breast Cancer Awareness month (AKA October!).
Every October, major breast cancer charities and organizations come together to increase awareness of the disease, as well as to raise funds for more research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. This amazing campaign also shares information and offers support to those affected by breast cancer.
Breast cancer has a personal history in my family, so this month of awareness is very important to me and my loved ones. Through showing my support by wearing pink everyday, I hope that more people can have a conversation about the disease and look into more ways for prevention and cures.
During breast cancer awareness month, I am floored by the support women (and men!) show each other, even if they’re complete strangers. We are all in this battle together, even if we’ve had different experiences with the disease.
I encourage everyone here to visit http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-cancer-awareness-month to keep well informed. You never know how many lives you can touch by supporting breast cancer patients and survivors by going to a 5K, local fundraisers, or any supported breast cancer awareness event.
For those who are going through this disease or are any way affected by it, I am sending you love and support and know that there are millions of us who are walking by your side. Stay strong!
